Reagan’s Closet was founded by a stay at home mother who was tired of seeing the same toys over and over again online and in retail stores.
“I’m very proud of Reagan’s Closet and what I have built,” Lanaya Cooper, founder of LRB Enterprises, explained. “After working the corporate life for several years I found myself as a stay at home mother and had to learn to reinvent myself. My needs were now replaced by the needs of my baby girl and I wanted to build something that could become a tribute to her, thus Reagan’s Closet was born, named after my daughter.”
After the first year of child raising Cooper realized she was seeing the same toys and games in every department store and online retail store. “I wanted to find unique items; tangible items that could be passed down for generations,” Cooper stated. “When I was growing up we didn’t have half the technology we do today and it was all about what my imagination could come up with for my active play time.” In a society that is getting a constant stream of technology based games and toys Cooper went looking for toys that would stimulate the imagination.
Reagan’s Closet provides unique gifts for children from personalized gifts to American made wooden toys and furniture. There are categories individualized based on interests such as The Musician, The Artist, The Builder and The Scientist. Personalized gifts range from wooden step stools that have the child’s name carved into puzzle pieces to adventure books where your child becomes the star. American made pedal cars and ride along toys are a tribute to the past with nostalgic designs like the 1955 Classic pedal car. Award winning games and toys are in abundance throughout the large and continually growing online catalogue.
“I wanted to provide the youth of today with educational toys and games that would stimulate the imagination and provide for hours of play that was also focused on learning. Albert Einstein said imagination is more important than knowledge and I truly believe that,” says Cooper. “There is nothing wrong with technology, I love the apps on my iPad for my daughter. Still, I want her to understand that there is more than sitting in front of a computer, a laptop or running around with an iPad. To me a wooden block is just that, a wooden block. But to a two year old, that wooden block becomes anything they can imagine it to be.”
