San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) October 13, 2012
Fall is here so it is time to plant trees in San Antonio. One tree can help beautify the environment and help keep our air clean.
Remember watching dad plant a tree and listening to him cuss at the rocky soil here in San Antonio? The difficulty of tree planting here in San Antonio is due to that rocky soil. Try digging more than a foot down without hitting solid rock. In most cases this is nearly impossible. Unfortunately San Antonio has extremely rocky soil. As it is now the fall and getting cooler in San Antonio, it’s time to plant trees. So dig a couple holes and forget how difficult it can be to plant a tree in San Antonio.
The Tree rebate program last year was just too good to pass up. The city of San Antonio was offering rebates for tree purchasing during the San Antonio tree planting Initiative. Read more about it on the city of San Antonio's website.
It was on a Friday afternoon driving home looking at these beautiful trees in the nursery the idea struck. Get the word out that it’s the right time of year to plant a tree. Some people might not know that. Deciding to buy a couple trees to plant in a great place is a fabulous idea. Deciding to buy some Rio Grande, aka San Antonio peach trees for fruit possibly.
Again the fact is planting the trees is a snap, never mind a jack hammer or a trenching shovel or sledgehammer or pick axe. As long as a shovel is around planting trees is a breeze. Some information about the tools and an easy step by step tree planting guide, as well as photos can be found at http://TreePlantingSanAntonio.wordpress.com. Follow the easy steps on that blog and you can't go wrong.
Would the tree have been better off if someone was paid to plant it? Yes, because of the size of the tree. Tree planting in San Antonio is very difficult because of the incredibly rocky soil. A jackhammer and a trenching shovel and a crew of men are required just to plant a tree. Because if digging down more than 10 inches you hit solid rock, you can agree. And remember this is limestone rock, and anyone who lives in San Antonio and has planted a tree, or bush knows what this is all about. Boulders, Rocks or Larger trees may require tools that you do not have if that is the case visit http://thegardencenter.com for assistance
So plant some trees with family and friends or call the folks at the Garden Center to plant your trees for you, visit their website http://www.thegardencenter.com. If you missed the tree planting initiative in 2011, contact the city of San Antonio and ask if when their rebate program will be reinstated.
