Comal ISD in New Braunfels area of Central Texas launched a new online school communications service called ComalShares. The cloud-based service is based on the Relatrix EZCommunicator platform and provides the school district's parents and other community members with an easy way to tailor the news and information they wish to receive.
Evergreen, CO (PRWEB) October 14, 2012
Relatrix is pleased to announce that Comal Independent School District (ISD) of New Braunfels, TX recently launched their new Online Contact Center, called ComalShares, based on Relatrix Corporation's EZCommunicator system. ComalShares is for subscribers to the Comal ISD “Hot News.” The site will go live from the district website, http://www.comalisd.org, this week.
ComalShares empowers subscribers to tailor the communications they receive according to the source (district or campus) and according to their interests (all district news, curriculum information, school board updates, etc.). Along with the district communication, three campuses—Garden Ridge Elementary, Church Hill Middle School and Smithson Valley High School—are serving as pilot schools for ComalShares.
“We are excited to debut a district newsletter along with our regular email blasts to parents and community members who subscribe to our database,” said Superintendent Andrew Kim. “ComalShares gives our subscribers the option to tailor the way they receive news from the district. This will go a long way in our continued efforts toward enhanced community engagement,” Superintendent Kim added.
“Comal ISD now has an integrated suite of digital communication tools to stay in touch with parents and the whole school community,” said Mark Franke, President of Relatrix. “This system helps the district to provide parents with key information anywhere and at any time, and provides an easy and cost-effective way to share strategic messages to support the district’s goals,” he added.
Anyone can subscribe to ComalShares by clicking on the icon on the home page of the district website. Subscribers will receive communication through email blasts, archived newsletters on the ComalShares site and social media postings such as Facebook and RSS feeds.
Later in the fall, other enhanced communication vehicles, such as calendars, flyer postings and community surveys, will be rolled out as part of ComalShares.
Comal ISD spans 589 square miles of central Texas, including parts of five central Texas counties of Comal, Bexar, Hays, Kendall, and Guadalupe. More than 18,500 students attend 17 elementary schools, five middle schools, four high schools and one alternative school in the district. The brand-new Indian Springs Elementary opened in August in one of the district’s fastest growing neighborhoods.
In addition to rigorous academic programs, the district celebrates the successes of students in their extracurricular activities, such as Smithson Valley High’s championship softball team, Canyon High School’s award-winning JROTC cadets and Canyon Lake High’s community service project leaders.
Relatrix is headquartered in Evergreen, CO with support and sales offices based in Austin, Texas Fort Collins, Colorado and Williamsburg, Virginia.
