ATHERTON, CA: Menlo College is presenting a Business Showcase to kick off an 85th Anniversary celebration that begins October 19 during homecoming weekend. The Showcase will feature 8 panel discussions about the state of business in professional sports, banking and investing, international business, enterprise, entertainment and social media, public service, writing, and real estate. Each panel includes three to five alumni professionals and will be facilitated by College faculty. The event will highlight alumni business careers and provide encouragement for students who are exploring their career path options.
Panelists include Nate Jackson ’01, free agent, NFL tight end, and writer for Slate Magazine; Enrique Ybarra, Founder of City Sightseeing Worldwide, the world’s leading open top bus company; three local microbrewers including Ben Lewis of Strike Brewing Company, Chris Garrett of Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company, and Rick Lechleitner of Firestone Walker Brewing Company; local developer David Irmer, President of Innisfree Companies; Beverly Hills talent promoter Travis Snyder, Hungry Creative Agency, whose clients include the Kardashians, Dancing with the Stars dancers, and top hip hop artists; Len Ely, a broker at Renault & Handley; and Larry Lopez, partner with Australian Venture Consultants, and former Silicon Valley Bank executive.
