Dr. Tony Wright and Game Improvement Golf recently completed the Technical Workshop and Training Day for use of the Science and Motion Sports (SAM) PuttLab, the most sophisticated putting stroke analysis tool in the world. Glen Coombe, “The Putting Doctor” and the Eastern USA representative for SAM PuttLab, conducted this training at the Centennial Golf Academy in Oak Ridge, TN. Game Improvement Golf is the only professional club fitter in Tennessee who uses the SAM PuttLab to help golfers reach their putting potential.
Oak Ridge, TN (PRWEB) October 15, 2012
The Putter is the most important golf club in a golfer’s bag – putting accounts for more than 40% of all golf shots in every round of golf. Even if a golfer has a putter that is well-fit for them, often they will not have sufficient knowledge about their putting stroke to reach their full putting potential.
The SAM PuttLab is a putting analysis and training system based upon extremely accurate ultrasound measurements. It analyzes the 28 most important putting stroke parameters, and displays results in easy-to-understand graphic formats. Analysis of SAM PuttLab data allows golfers to develop putting improvement and training strategies to reach their true putting potential.
Game Improvement Golf recently purchased a SAM PuttLab for its golfer short-game improvement efforts. Glen Coombe, the "Putting Doctor" and the Eastern USA representative for SAM PuttLab, visited the Centennial Golf Academy on October 11 to train Dr. Tony Wright in using the SAM PuttLab to help golfers improve their putting.
At the end of the training day, Glen said, “Dr. Tony Wright raises the bar in Tennessee and beyond. With his solid experience in technical analysis and club fitting, it is only appropriate that he apply this knowledge to the area of putting. Science & Motion Sports welcome Tony to the SAM PuttLab family with open arms and expect that Tony will be a leader within the Assn. of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP) membership now in putting just as he has been in full swing club fitting and analysis. Golfers in Tennessee are in for a very big surprise when they visit his studio in Oak Ridge, and will come away with a new understanding of cause and effect in putting.”
Fourteen golfers had their putting strokes analyzed during the training day. Des Mahoney, the Director of Golf Instruction at the Centennial Golf Academy and one of the most accomplished golf instructors in Tennessee, said, “The SAM putt Lab quickly and accurately shows the golfer a detailed analysis of their putting stroke. I believe in the technology and I look forward to using the information obtained in the reports with my students.”
Each golfer who participated in the SAM PuttLab training day was impressed with the information that they learned to help them improve their putting. One of the golfers said, “In 20 minutes, I had a clear understanding of my putting flaws as well as how to fix them. I learned more about putting in 20 minutes than I have learned in playing golf for 15 years.”
