Prestigious Community Service awards highlight significant contributions made by children of U.S. diplomats stationed overseas.

Clements Worldwide, a leading provider of international insurance solutions for expatriates, is proud to announce the winners of the 2012 U.S. Foreign Service Youth Foundation (FSYF) Community Service Award: Rebecca Blaser and Jasmyn Roecks. The Clements-sponsored award honors two individuals who, despite the unique hardships of the expatriate lifestyle, have made positive contributions within their foreign post communities.
The two finalists were each awarded a certificate of recognition for their respective philanthropic work, as well as a $1500 savings bond at the annual FYSF award ceremony, hosted at the U.S. Department of State.
Rebecca Blaser, age 17, was recognized for her humanitarian contributions to an HIV/AIDS research clinic in Kampala, Uganda. For the past two years, Rebecca has been involved with all aspects of the clinic, from patient care to administrative support. Jasmyn Roecks, age 17, was awarded for her tireless efforts in helping under-privileged children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. What’s more, both award recipients ensured the long-term sustainability of their individual community projects by setting up future fundraisers and creating awareness-generating campaigns in support of their initiatives.
“These inspiring young members of the Foreign Service community personify the American spirit of generosity through their volunteer work,” says Sergio Sanchez, director and chief marketing officer at Clements Worldwide. “Rebecca and Jasmyn are exceptional global citizens, and Clements is proud to support their efforts to make a positive impact in communities throughout the world.”
