Pets Best Insurance, a leading U.S. pet insurance agency, is pleased to announce the finalists for its third quarter My Vet’s the Best Contest. The finalists were hand-selected by the Pets Best Insurance staff and include six veterinarians from across the country. The finalists are:
- Dr. Rene Lefranc – Second Avenue Animal Hospital – Columbus, Ga.
- Dr. Irvin Ingram – All Creatures Animal Clinic – Phoenix, Ariz.
- Dr. Deanna Tickle – Burlington Animal Hospital – Burlington, N.C.
- Dr. Brett Bauscher – Canyon Small Animal Hospital – Caldwell, Idaho
- Dr. Monique Weldon – Loving Family Animal Hospital – Centennial, Colo.
- Dr. Glen Roiland – Amityville Animal Hospital – Amityville, N.Y.
Pet owners who think their veterinarians have gone above and beyond for their pet are asked to submit their nominations through a form on the Pets Best Insurance Facebook page and website. Each quarter, an internal panel selects six finalists from all received nominations. The six veterinarians and their client-submitted stories are then posted to Facebook for public voting.
“We are proud to recognize veterinarians across the United States who are positively impacting their local communities,” said Dr. Jack Stephens, founder and president of Pets Best Insurance. “Each of these finalists is a winner in my mind and I commend their compassionate and impactful efforts.”
The pet owner that has the story with the most votes will receive a $200 cash prize and the winning veterinarian will receive $1,000 for the treatment of animals in need. Voting is open until November 16, 2012. One grand prize winner will also be selected in 2013. The annual grand prize winner will receive airfare, hotel accommodations and registration for two to the 2013 Western Veterinary Conference, a leading continuing education conference for veterinarians.
The winner of the second quarter My Vet’s the Best Contest, Dr. Tony Poutous from Pet Care Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va., utilized his $1,000 prize to take in three litters of stray kittens (14 kittens total) and brought all kittens back to good health. He also brought in a dog with canine parvovirus that was rescued from a local shelter. His clinic treated and hospitalized the dog and was sent home healthy to his owner in recent weeks.
