First Community Credit Union and The Houston Texans have teamed up for their second annual “Stars in the Classroom” program. The 2012 program kicked off on August 20th, and the next stop is October 30th at Chambers Elementary in Alief ISD at 10:00 a.m. Houston Texans fullback James Casey will visit the classroom to present the award and prizes to the honored teacher.
The “Stars in the Classroom” program honors 10 deserving teachers and the impact they make in the community and on our future. The exemplary teachers are awarded football tickets, sideline passes, a $500 donation to their school district in their honor, an autographed jersey, and a visit to their classroom from Houston Texans fullback James Casey. In addition, Houston Texans running back Ben Tate will also make an appearance at First Community Credit Union for a one-hour autograph session. The autograph session will be held at 9100 Westview on October 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. First Community Credit Union is the Official Credit Union of the Houston Texans.
FCCU started out as a credit union for teachers and they have been an avid supporter of education for over 56 years. Employees of FCCU are deeply rooted in many of the school districts in the Houston area where staff volunteer on various committees in Spring Branch ISD and Alief ISD.
