Migration to Genius SIS Reaps Rewards for WEN
Madison, WI (PRWEB) November 01, 2012
The Wisconsin eSchool Network (WEN), a consortium of sixteen school districts in the state, announced that it has fully migrated to Genius SIS, its new school management / student information system.
Wisconsin eSchool Network chose Genius SIS because of its robust, flexible and customizable online / blended school management and student information system. Wisconsin eSchool Network has over 7,500 students taking courses through the network and Genius SIS has delivered a customized solution that allows multiple affiliations under the WEN umbrella to access a customized portal to each affiliation’s students and school or district reporting. Each school or district can manage their own students, run customized reports, and get a comprehensive understanding of student and teacher performance, all while allowing WEN administrative oversight of the state-wide operation, including managing funding.
John Jacobs, Executive Director of WEN, and Greg Mahaffey, Online Learning Coordinator, led the organization’s due diligence on Genius SIS.
“We weren’t really looking to replace our existing SIS, but when we saw Genius SIS, we saw a host of solutions to issues that we had been struggling with”, said Jacobs. “As we dug deeper, we realized that Genius SIS could really transform the way we do business and dramatically increase operational efficiencies at WEN.”
Greg Mahaffey described the process of migration and adoption as seamless. “We have a complex organization with complex needs,” said Mahaffey. “The team at Genius SIS worked extremely closely with us in understanding our needs and delivered a solution that went beyond our expectations. Daily, we are impressed with the ways in which Genius SIS is helping us improve on the ways we do business.”
Important for the organization was local autonomy for the member schools and districts throughout the state. “Our members expect to be able to manage their students and take ownership of student performance and student outcomes. Genius SIS allows them to have local autonomy, while supported by the expertise and experience delivered by WEN,” Jacobs says. “Greg and I are continuously amazed at the superiority of this product. Genius SIS is an industry-changing tool. In our world of online, I have to say this tool is a perfect solution for our needs!”
Genius SIS Founder and CEO, Beny Lederman, said he is extremely pleased that WEN selected Genius SIS, and that the migration has been a positive experience. “Changing from one SIS to another is not an easy decision for an organization to make. There are many considerations, as well as some perceived risk. But we worked hard to provide a solution that would really make a difference to WEN. We want clients to be proud of their decision to adopt Genius SIS, or to migrate to it.”
