Victor Palencia releases a premium series of proprietary wines

La Botte Piccola, a Woodinville-based wine distributor, and Palencia Wine Company, a Prosser based wine company, announced the launch of a premium series of wines produced by winemaker Victor Palencia. Named “Selección” the wines will be the first produced under Palencia’s own proprietary label and distributed exclusively by Piccola. Crafted from some of the oldest and most renowned vineyards in the state, the wines will epitomize the premium quality of Washington best AVA’s. “I’m really excited to launch this line” stated Palencia. “It’s been a life-long dream to develop my own signature wines harvested from some of the same great vineyards that I grew up with.” The wines will be released and distributed through Piccola’s wine-on-tap network and available through those on-premise establishments with limited availability in bottle form. “The times are changing and we believe that wine-on-tap is the perfect venue to showcase these premium wines” stated Palencia.
Despite his age, Palencia, 27 has an impressive resume. He is the winemaking genius behind the Jones of Washington Winery named 2012 Washington Winery of the Year in “Wine Press Northwest Magazine”. He is also the Director of Winemaking for J&S Crushing, one of Washington’s premier custom crush wineries. He is a graduate of Walla Walla Community Colleges Enology & Viticulture Program and served as head winemaker at Willow Crest Wineries wines from 2004- 2007. After a small stint with Apex winery he started crafting Jones of Washington wines in 2008 and under his watch he has elevated the Jones Brand to one of the most respected in the state. His talent and passion has not gone unnoticed, with featured articles in the New York Times, Seattle Times and Wine Press Northwest Magazine.
