Biofeedback headband worn in sleep prevents TMJ pain and morning migraines by training users out of nighttime clenching, and measures clenching to monitor progress.
Arlington, MA (PRWEB) November 04, 2012
Holistic Technologies demonstrated the SleepGuard biofeedback headband at the 2012 annual conference of the Biofeedback Society of California (November 1-4, 2012). Clinical trial results (http://stopgrinding.com/ClinicalTrials.htm) were shared, demonstrating that nighttime biofeedback allows pain sufferers to reduce or eliminate nighttime teeth clenching, and thus reduce or eliminate TMJ pain and morning migraines that come from nighttime clenching.
Millions of Americans suffer from TMJ Pain and/or morning migraines, and the majority do not realize their pain symptoms come from ongoing tissue damage from nighttime teeth clenching (bruxism). The biofeedback headband monitors clenching muscles and makes a sound when clenching is detected. After a little daytime practice, users are able to interrupt nighttime clenching when they hear the biofeedback sound, without waking up.
The biofeedback headband tracks nightly clenching while providing biofeedback. Clinical trial results show that over 50% of users get more than an 80% reduction in nighttime clenching, and efficacy is increased by more complete mental alignment with the process. Holistic Technologies provided tips to biofeedback practitioners at BSC which to enable them to help patients get the best results from nighttime biofeedback.
Many TMJ and migraine sufferers have purchased a myriad of supposed cures with no result. Holistic Technologies is one of the first companies to allow users to try a TMJ treatment at no cost. “The free trial lets people see a drastic reduction in their nightly clenching time and pain before they pay. Typically people see results within a week, and the free trial is 21 days”, says Lee Weinstein, CEO of Holistic Technologies.
