The funds raised are used to fund research, wellness, breast cancer education, and support for patients and families.
According to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure web site, it is estimated that there will be 39,510 breast cancer deaths among U.S. women in 2012. On Sunday, October 28, at Holmes Lake Park in Lincoln there is a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event.
