San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 10, 2012
Driven by rising domestic demand and new foreign markets, revenue for the Stationery and Office Supplies Manufacturing industry in China has been growing at an annualized rate of 9.6% to about $9.9 billion. Although exports to developed markets have been negatively affected by the appreciation of the Chinese yuan and the slow economic recovery after the recession, demand from emerging markets including South Africa, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia is growing steadily. Exports contribute almost a quarter of total industry revenue.
There are about 1,200 enterprises in the Stationery and Office Supplies Manufacturing industry, most of which are small or medium in scale. The top four industry operators, Huamao, Beifa, Deli, and Chenglu, account for just over one-tenth of industry revenue in 2012, indicating a low level of market share concentration. As the Chinese economy continues to develop, more companies will be established in China, which will boost demand for stationery and office supplies. As a result, the revenue share of domestic prices will grow. The industry will also introduce more high-end, higher-priced products, which will contribute to revenue growth.
More compulsory regulations on stationery products are expected in the next five years, says IBISWorld, which will create a more standardized market environment, but also raise production costs. In addition, the government will unify domestic and international product quality standards to promote the development of the industry.
