With over 35 years in the industry, Mary has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field. Mary works for Via Christi Health, in Wichita, Kansas. She is an advanced nurse practitioner and case manager for medical surgical nursing cases. As an advanced nurse practitioner, Mary is given duties similar to that of a physician: visiting with patients independently. As a case manager, she is in charge of preparing care plans for other staff for each patient. In her spare time, Mary is on the leadership council for the local arthritis foundation. She is also on the adjunct faculty at Wichita State University. In 1975, Mary earned her nursing degree at Wichita St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree at St. Mary of the Plains College, also in Kansas. Her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) was earned at Wichita State University in 1992, and she later received her advanced nurse practitioner certification.
