Dr. Kavanaugh introduces a Women’s Retreat in the woods of NC that offers Psychological treatment for women AND retreat style comforts that is affordable and private. The Holly Branch Retreat is designed by a woman for women, with the goal of providing Psychological services in both individual and small group format. She believes that women need a venue of support outside of their immediate families and friends. Seminar format is designed to assist in dealing with a variety of women specific issues; such as relationship issues, mood disorders, grief/loss, menopause, medical diagnosis, and the need for generative activity beyond our work titles and “giving back” during the course of our lifetime.

After 17 years of Practice in Psychological Inpatient & Outpatient settings, Dr. Kavanaugh is taking the institutional style effect away from clinical treatment. Historically, the primary people that have received this type of service were those that were wealthy. That no longer is the case. You should not have to dissolve your 401K to obtain Psychological therapy in a private and healing environment. Dr. Kavanaugh states that the National Institute of Mental Health reports that 1 in 4 women will experience severe Depression in the course of a lifetime, and that Depression occurs at a 2:1 ratio for women than men. Hence the need for providing more specific treatment for women and recognition for women’s issues is important. Exploring life and health issues in a natural environment is what Holly Branch Retreat is about.
Dr. Kavanaugh’s vision of exclusive care has developed over years of providing Mental Health services. She is opening her Retreat in Late October 2012 as described on her website at http://www.HollyBranchRetreat.com. Dr. Kavanaugh’s Holly Branch Retreat offers intensive treatment spread over the course of 5 days.
