World-class chefs join forces for culinary extravaganza, raise funds to benefit Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) September 03, 2012
One of the season’s most anticipated culinary events is set to take place on Sept. 29 in the home of Larry and Deana Blackburn, where four globally-renowned chefs will converge for a dinner extraordinaire benefitting the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Foundation (HCSOF).
Chefs Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud and Jérôme Bocuse of the Bocuse d’Or Foundation are joined by the USA representative for the Foundation’s annual World Cuisine Competition Richard Rosendale, as the grand masters of a seated, multi-course dinner for 150 guests. The three formers headed a similar event two years ago in New Orleans that was later nicknamed the “Dinner of a Decade” by local food writers.
“This is truly the dining experience of a lifetime,” said Event Chairperson Deana Blackburn. “Rarely are such powerful forces of the culinary world joined together at the same time, in the same place. We are truly honored to have them.”
The weekend’s festivities kick off at an exclusive champagne reception on the eve of the dinner, where guests and members of the media can meet and mingle with the culinary quartet. The main event commences with an open-air cocktail hour, during which guests will have a chance to observe the artists at work in the Blackburns’ private kitchen. Afterwards, guests are treated to a dinner menu crafted by all four chefs collaboratively and accompanied by expertly selected wine pairings. A photo-op and post-dinner cordials bring the evening to a close.
“The mission of the foundation is to lend assistance and support to the men and women who serve our county,” Deana Blackburn said. “This charitable organization was created to benefit the Sheriff's officers directly, and we want to give our support in any way we are able.”
Tickets and corporate sponsorships are available through the HCSOF website, http://www.hcsof.org, and individual tickets start at $2,500.
The World Master Chefs Dinner is the first major fundraiser for HCSOF, a recently established non-profit (501(c)(3) organization that provides contributions to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, such as protective equipment, continued officer training and financial support for the families of wounded and fallen deputies. In May, the foundation donated bulletproof vests to the office’s Reserve Command.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is the largest in the state and the third largest in the country.
