The Western PA Real Estate Investors Association Announces the Start of Insurance for Investors’ Class

The class will be presented as a ten part lecture series and will be delivered to the members of the Pittsburgh based real estate investment club. The lectures are geared toward seasoned investors who may not know of all the latest insurance laws. The class will also greatly benefit novice investors throughout Pennsylvania.

PittsburghREIA.com will be the conduit for the lecture series known as insurance 101. The class is an outgrowth of the educational nature of the real estate investing club. Club activites are generally focused on the latest techniques that real estate investors need to know in order to make money in this economy.

The insurance class is geared towards helping members comply with insurance laws and avoiding costly law suits. Not every investor is a Donald Trump or a Warren Buffett. Avoiding financial loss is just as important to a real estate investor as making money. The title of the first installment of the class is “General Liability requirements for Rehabbers”, and it touches on some of the misconceptions that landlords may have about their liability in dealing with contractors. The article points out that many of the pitfalls that property owners face are not covered by the insurance policy of the contractors that work on a project. Any investor who does not know how that part of Pennsylvania insurance law works could be setting themselves up for a particularly costly surprise.
