Absolute Wealth’s James R. Gorrie speaks with Jeremy Hurewitz on the Chinese emergence as a global superpower.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 03, 2012
Absolute Wealth’s Managing Editor James R. Gorrie conducted an extensive interview highlighting China’s emerging national identity with Jeremy Hurewitz, Head of Business Intelligence and expert in Chinese affairs at Nardello & Co., an international corporate investigations firm. Part four of the interview has been released, and in it the two discuss Chinese ambitions moving into the future.
In the previous portions of the interview, Gorrie and Hurewitz talked about the prospects for China’s continued liberation. Gorrie started the most recent part by inquiring about China’s desire to push ahead and become a true economic and political influence on the global scale.
“It [China] wants to lessen US influence rather than usurp the US’s position as the pre-eminent global power,” Hurewitz said in reply to Gorrie’s question.
“Remember, China is still a very poor country; you can understand why it wants to just grow,” Hurewitz said. “I don’t see them becoming a superpower and taking the place of the US or even becoming a rival on that level, because it doesn’t have the soft power to do so.”
The two went on to discuss China’s dollar exclusion policies and national military stance, further diving into the complex depths of human rights in the Far East.
The continuing series will appear on AbsoluteWealth.com each Friday. Look for Part 5 of the interview on September 7, 2012.
