Record your own reading of classic stories such as The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham; then share the recording with family, friends and teachers.

Encinitas, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2012

Dr. Seuss Enterprises and leading app publisher Oceanhouse Media, Inc. today unveiled an exclusive ”Record and Share” feature for Dr. Seuss’s award-winning children’s digital books in the App Store℠. The first digital books to receive this feature are The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham and Dr. Seuss’s ABC, available in full and free LITE versions.

“We’ve brought story time to a whole new level,” said Susan Brandt, President of Dr. Seuss Enterprises. “Whether reading one page or the entire story, readers instantly become the narrator of their own Dr. Seuss book and can share the fun with others.”

For the first time users can record themselves reading a Dr. Seuss story and then share the recording with family, friends and teachers who also own the digital book. Recipients who do not have the digital book can listen to the recording as a standard audio file. Multiple voice tracks can be saved within the digital book as well.

“Now if mom or dad are away from home, they can still read a bedtime story to their kids,” said Michel Kripalani, President of Oceanhouse Media. “Or imagine a grandparent receiving a book read to them by their young grandchild. Plus, on the educational front, this is a fantastic way for teachers to evaluate, track, and save a student’s reading ability throughout the school year.”

Other new features in these digital book updates include a page selector, the ability to turn individual learning features on or off, and a link to the Dr. Seuss Bookshelf on the main menu. Additional digital books will receive the free update in the coming months.
