Sofradir EC Inc., a leading manufacturer of cooled and uncooled infrared imaging engines, has announced the completion of a facility expansion at its Fairfield NJ location. The 4,000+ square foot expansion increases the company’s production capacity as demanded by its growing customers for continued efficiency and improved product flow.
The expanded areas are used for electromechanical assembly, quality test as well as semi-automated camera core calibration. ESD-conductive flooring has been installed in the Production, Calibration and Service areas. The Calibration area is soundproofed to limit equipment and machinery noise. The new facilities include an upgraded IT System and servers that include encryption to enhance security. The enlarged production and calibration areas permit the enhancement of quality practices throughout all departments inclusive of the production areas.
The expansion commenced in April 2012 and was completed after several months of construction. It is now 100% functional. The company inaugurated the new space with Groupe Sofradir management in August 2012.
