Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 15, 2012

Burns & Levinson is pleased to announce that Attorney Frances Gershwin has been selected to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s 2012 Top Women of Law, and honored by The Fenway Alliance for “Exceptional Spirit”. Ms. Gershwin is a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate, Design & Construction, and Schools & Colleges groups. She is Co-Chair of the Real Estate group and has extensive experience in environmental issues.

“Fran is a passionate and committed attorney,” said David Rosenblatt, Managing Partner of Burns & Levinson. “She is most deserving of these prestigious awards from the communities that she has served so well over the years.”

Ms. Gershwin was recognized on October 12 at Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly’s 5th Annual Top Women of Law awards event, which celebrates a select group of women attorneys who have made great professional strides and demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in the corporate arena, private practice or through social activism. Ms. Gershwin is being recognized because of her professional successes and unyielding commitment to her community, particularly through environmental activism.

She was also honored on October 4 by the Fenway Alliance, a consortium of 21 cultural and academic institutions that partners with businesses and government entities to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging community. The Fenway Alliance Celebrates Exceptional Spirits (FACES) honors extraordinary professionals who work to foster an environment that merges historical and contemporary elements of the area. Ms. Gershwin was honored for her involvement in the Muddy River Restoration Project Maintenance and Management Oversight Committee (MMOC), for which she serves as Chair, as well as her ongoing dedication to environmental issues in her professional career.

“I am honored to be receiving these awards,” said Ms. Gershwin. “It is especially humbling to be recognized for both my professional and community work and to be among the other distinguished honorees.”
