Boxiecat, the home cat litter delivery service who provides cat litter subscriptions nationwide, has added the Tuscarawas County Humane Society (TCHS) in Dover, Ohio to its roster of Shelter Partners. The partnership allows Boxiecat to donate a portion of revenue toward the well-being of animals, and, at the same time, lend expertise in raising local and national awareness of shelter initiatives and goals such as adoptions and donations. The Boxiecat Partner Program is designed to leverage a business foundation for the benefit of animals in need. A portion of subscriptions to Boxiecat made through the TCHS website is donated to TCHS.
The vision of the Tuscarawas County Humane Society is to create a community where all animals receive appropriate care, love and attention at all times; are treated with dignity and respect; provided necessary veterinary care; and protected from all forms of cruelty, abuse and neglect.
TCHS describes it’s purpose as to:
-Ensure the best possible quality of life for all animals, and to promote respect and reverence for life by establishing a "no kill" philosophy;
-Establish and maintain a fiscally-responsible shelter for rescued, abandoned, abused or neglected animals in Tuscarawas County;
-Promote the adoption of rescued, abandoned, abused or neglected animals into safe, lifelong homes;
-Eliminate animal cruelty, abuse and neglect by educating the adults and youth in our community;
-Promote an affordable spay/neuter program to end the overpopulation of companion animals in Tuscarawas County; and
-Lobby in support of animal rights legislation.
Adoptable cats are housed at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Cat Shelter (formally the Cats ‘N Us shelter) located at 829 Union Ave. Dover, OH 44622. All adoptable cats are neutered or spayed, current on vaccines, receive a Feline Leukemia, FIV, heartworm test, worming and are started on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
Dogs ready for adoption are located at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Shelter at 6895 Dover-Zoar Rd., Dover, Ohio 44622. All adoptable dogs are neutered or spayed, current on vaccines, receive a heartworm test, worming and are started on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
Since the Tuscarawas County Humane Society is a non-profit rescue service, they rely solely on the donations from our community and various grants. Monetary donations to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society can be made through Paypal on the TCHS website.
